    What would you expect?

Just sit back and ponder for a few minutes.

If you moved to another place in the world where the vast majority did not speak English what would you expect the people there to be thinking if you played Metallica real loud in a public place?

So would anyone here ever move to another Country and expect the people of that country to learn English? Or not expect them to dislike Metallica if you played it loud on their beach?

Everyone probably likes Metallica so that may be a bad example. Pick a crappy American band.

But the point is I would think most here would never do it as they would know they are being rude. And I doubt you would ever even think any one else should learn your language or that they should write all signs in their language and yours because you know, YOU moved to their Country.

No I wouldn't move to another country and force other people to listen to Cardi B or someone annoying. I also wouldn't expect them to learn English. I'd learn the language, preferably before moving there. That just makes sense.

I also wouldn't move to that country and fly some big obnoxious flag off of my truck or in my yard to show everyone I'm a proud American. Because obviously that's not true or I wouldn't be living in another country.

Stop. Other countries can't come into play here with this line of thinking. This is America, land of political correctness, the land of leave your natural country for a better life but bring your beliefs and life style with you and expect a different result. The land you can come to for the milk and honey and still proudly fly the flag of your home country, but not the confederate flag.

I am not a huge fan of flying the Confederate flag, but i do like consistency, so if the Confederate flag and statues should come down, should Mexican and American Indian flags and statues come down too? I believe they lost just like the Confederacy. And the racist argument doesn't hold, because many Mexicans look down on the native people in their country and many Indians looked down on other tribes and held that their nation was superior, but that is just some unemotional reasoning, so it probably don't count for much

Well the truth is populations all over the world speak english in addition to their native language. You can travel all over the world, from China to Germany to several South American and African countries without ever having to make an effort to learn their language.

On a completely different subject from spoken language, blaring your music and being obnoxious at the beach is rude, no matter what language its in. I’m not sure why it bothers you so much more that its in spanish instead of english, french, mandarin or the new mumble rap junk that doesn’t even seem to be language.

Rarely do I go to the beach and not hear obnoxiously loud music. The language it’s in doesn’t really matter to me. If you moved to another country and blared music in public, the main issue wouldn’t be that it’s in English, it’s that you’re being rude. That clearly wasn’t the main issue for the poster in the other thread. I don’t think giving up the music you grew up listening to should be a prerequisite for moving to America, but obviously you should learn the language, and be respectful. The reason he came off as racist is because he was acting super ****** about having to listen to tejano music, and tried to act like blaring loud music is a Mexican thing. I can’t go through the inner city without having my truck rattled by someone’s rap, I’ve had my ears blown out by country plenty of times by neighbors, and usually at the beach I mostly hear crappy pop music or rock played way louder than it needs to be. Every race and ethnicity has people that play their music too loud. Blaring music is about as American as it gets, to be honest. This guy wasn’t mad about music, that was just the excuse he came up with to gripe about Mexicans, and the underlying message of his post was louder than any “music” he was complaining about.

If I moved outside the US (and I'm trying to talk the wife into it) and I was sitting on the beach I wont be playing music. that's the reason other places are attractive to me. Seems in most places either folks are too poor to afford loud music or it just is not done for some reason. Seems in Texas the largest problem is the rednecks with country music, followed by everyone else. I don't like any music when I'm sitting in the sand watching rods. I just like the sound of the beach.

Worse than the beach- being back in a flat in skinny water and have some clown pull in with his $80k boat, new Columbia fishing attire, 3 jackwagons dressed like him, blaring Jimmy Buffet.

No, I would bring my culture and beliefs, but would know that I am a guest. When I am in someone elses house, I follow their rules. If I dont like their rules, I leave. Its called respect. But some cultures/people dont understand respect or civility. Perhaps thats why their home country is in such bad shape?

Before anyone pulls the race card and starts crying again, my grandmothers maiden name was Mata, was bilingual and was as "mexican" looking as they come.

In my opinion, in the past most imigrants came here to BE Americans. To keep their culture and beliefs but to become one of us. That seems to have changed. Now many seem to want to be here, but not be one of us. ( by no means do I believe all are this way )

The various cultures can bring strength, but living here without being one of us, without that connection, weakens our society.

It cracks me up how everyone thinks just because these beach goers were playing their “Mexican” music to loud they’re automatically illegals or not naturalized citizens. The odds that these people are red blooded Americans are more likely than you think.

In Mexican culture it's ok to blast music at all hours of the night if your having a fiesta. The neighbors just deal with it and let the parties rave. Why some of those *******s cant figure out they shouldn't do that here is beyond me. Yes other cultures do it too but Mexicans just dont get it. I realize your daughter is having her quinceria but that doesnt give you the right to blast music till 3am.
