Only a manual dial in my case. Key pads are nice but I hear of too many problems. Just my 2 cents.

Will it just plug in where my current pad does?

Not sure about that. I went from dial to keypad.

I believe that the AMSEC uses a solenoid type locking mechanism and many of the cheaper ones have a servo motor so I’d imagine there would have to be changes to the inside as well.

After watching him change mine even the locking mechanism looks pretty simple.
