Thanks for all input. I'm liking the remedy diesel mix. If it's simply as easy as mowing it down with tractor, all the better.

        Anything with Picloram will work-

I'd highly recommend against shredding until all parts are dead regardless of cactus variety.

I mowed a bunch and it hasn't come back, been 2 years. I was whoopin it with a machete one day and a piece flew up my nostril and got stuck in there. That was fun.

I use remedy and diesel on everything from mesquites to cactus. I don’t add any water though and it’s killed it all so far this year.

I have never had luck with remedy and diesel killing cactus in south texas.

Tordon or Surmount is what is recommended to kill pear cactus. Tasajillo I don't know what the best stuff is. We had a bunch of it dozed and piled and it got rid of it.

if you have a tractor did it up and pile and burn it

I know spike 20 won't kill it and spike kills just about everything

I scooped a bunch of prickly pear with a bucket on a skid steer and it never came back.

How to Take Care of Pricklypear and Other Cacti Pricklypear and other species of cacti may interfere with movement and handling of livestock and with forage utilization, cause serious livestock health problems, and compete with desirable forage plants. These plants are extremely tolerant of drought and harsh conditions and are protected from grazing animals to some extent by their spines. Pricklypear and other species of cacti thrive across the western half of Texas both in rural pastures and urban lots. They have the ability to grow and to... Read More →

I was concerned that dozing it with tractor might make it worse similar to prickly pear. From what I'm hearing I'll try to doze a small section and burn it. If it doesn't come back, I'll continue. Thanks for all the help!!
