I guess I am on the opposite end of the scale from you.

I am a crappie fisherman but my boat still runs 75 if I open it up.
I rarely fish on the weekends during the summer in the open lake.
I worry even if I am just putting alone at 40, that some one will have dumped a kid off a inner tube or what ever and they will be bobbing out in the boat lane like a cork.

Long years ago I used to get mad at the bass fishermen for staying on plane when they passed under a bridge I was fishing.
I learned later on if they stay on plane, they hardly leave any wake when they pass. If they shut it down they throw off a 4’wake

This year alone, I’ve feared for my life and my children’s lives as at least 4 different bass boats going 50+ mph have felt the need to buzz our boat.

So where are these guys going in such a hurry?

Because you can is all you need. There's more to fishing than just fishing, boating is part of the fun.

Yeah I don’t agree with someone blowing all up on you no matter if it’s a bass
boat are whatever and nine times out of ten it’s a freaking wake boat that’s doing it to you but they usually have hot chics on them for a plus

Unsafe operation is another matter, I am betting those guys are just want-a-bes.
              That makes sense

Same could be said for ski boats driving by fisherman with their wake boats pulling a knee board 20' from a bass boat sitting still and the people in the ski boat just laughing, but when a bass boat goes by at 100' they get ******. Yes my Bass Cat does 80+ and i drive it how i would like same as the ski guys.

In all my years of bass fishing, I never have seen a speed limit sign.

Boats running by me on plane doesn’t bother as long as they are a safe distance. We irritates me to no end is when the come off plane about 20 yards before they get to me and idle by. When they come off plane they through a much larger wake then they would had they just ran by me.

Its the Wake boarders you need to be worried about. Also , by law if you have a downed skier you need to have that red flag up letting other boaters know.

It's not just the bass fisherman. Seems like a ton of the bay boats you run across nowadays speed to one spot, make 1 drift, catch nothing, get bored, and fly past everyone to the next spot. Fishing is all about competition and impatience for a lot of people. Go as fast as you want, just don't be stupid about it.
