Bad reviews done in retaliation can be disputed (on Gunbroker and eBay). So don't let that scare you from warning others about a bad deal or shady seller practices (if it turns out it was).

That's his story and he is sticking to it. You are pretty much on your own now, other than providing him with as much bad publicity as possible. That will be your only recourse. Sorry for your dilemma, Sir.

I assumed a dishonest person would continue to be dishonest.

Almost looks like pitting from rust but not sure. Just looks like it in the pic. That makes it very hard to clean.

The bore pic is before cleaning? How did it look after?

I'd say this too initially if I was a lying trying to pass something off that was NIB and it wasn't.

I’ll take one tonight. It is much better after a very thorough cleaning but it is not factory new condition. There is some permanent blemishes.

"the handgun was never fired while in my possession" sticks in my craw. Who's possession was it in before him?

I would usually give the benefit of the doubt to the seller, but I don’t think that is the case on this one.

I see rifle/scope “budget” combos all the time— but I’ve never seen a Contender with a factory mounted scope. I don’t understand the purpose in a dealer/smith/whatever buying all the parts, assembling them, and selling as a whole on GB. That in itself tells me it isn’t “NIB”.

I thought the same thing even with the holster. Seems that it would be more difficult for margin.

Yep. See this crap all the time.

Yeah, like when someone says "mint" condition on a used item. If it has been used AT ALL, it is not mint condition, regardless of actual condition.
