    Also for the record a coachwhip and Indigo are NOT the same species of snake... A 6 1/2 foot indigo would be bigger than your forearm, and their main diet is other reptiles as opposed to rodents like the coachwhips...

      You're probably seeing the Western Coachwhip. Most of ours are a solid tan color but I've seen a few that had purplish colored bands on them. Really cool lookin and it kind of trips you out to see those bands when they're moving as fast as they do.

      You've probably heard of a blue racer which is a yellow bellied racer. They have different color phases. Some are a grey color,some are green. But it's the same species. I've heard them called green and blue racers all my life.
