    Snake help

My wife sent me a pic of a long snake in the yard this morning. I have seen these around before but cant positively ID it by looking online. I think its one of the different species of Racers, not sure.

Its solid black up front, and starts to get yellow speckle in the back.
Even looks like he just had a meal. You can see the bulge behind his head a little ways back. I think she did the right thing and let him go about its business.

I knew it wasn’t venomous by shape of its head and large round pupils,
but was more curious about the specific species.

I know it is not one, but the body reminds me of a Blue Racer. I had one in my yard but didn't have my phone with me. Super pretty snake.

I just googled it and the pic that came up is identical as well as the description of the markings and surroundings.
Pretty neat snake. Even with a full belly, he was FAST. Turns out these are the longest and fastest snakes in our region.
This particular snake was pushing 6 1/2 feet.

Our coachwhips around here are more of a beige color(unless I'm thinking about the wrong critter. Isn't that what we called prairie runners?

From the link SlowandSteady posted, it says they can vary in color from solid black all the way to sandy color and do look different at a young age.
