Can't really tell, but is that what they refer to as red ash?

I have always used Arm & Hammer Baking Soda on a Red Ash, it makes creamy brown gravy! Plus it cures the Red Ash!

If you can find where they are boring at you can put some bacon on a string and catch them that way

Bug is called a powder post beetle, heat is only way short of gas fumigation. Easiest new wood, trash the old.

When redsnapper's ash holes spits out fine powder dust every spring and fall is a bad sign, especially if it's red ash.

Since we're talking about Ash and Boring Insects, there's a lot of forecasts that suggest we will be dealing with a epidemic from The Emerald Ash Borer in the very near future. It has completely decimated the Ash population in the midwest and East coast. It's a topic that's been very high at each Arborist conference I've been to over the last several years.
