I have been looking for a Weber Genesis for several months. I also have a Weber Kettle Grill and Big Green Egg. I wanted the Weber so I can cook meals quickly during the week. I saw this thread here.
I took the plunge and bought a 28" Propane Blackstone Griddle. The thing is bad to the bone. I can do breakfast, lunch and dinner all very fast. I have not had a bad meal off of it yet. I quit my search for the Genesis. It was a fraction of the price and it fit my needs well.
You'd be surprised how few nickels you would have......I used the search function and nothing jumped out at me.....People ask and then immediately get "buy a pellet grill" "charcoal is the only way to go" "real men use mesquite".
Not much in the way of useful information. That is why I asked!
I got tired of buying a new stainless steel grill every 5 years. The "lifetime" burners might be okay, but the non-stainless bottom or back of the grills would rust out.
Bought a Weber probably 15 years ago, and it is going strong! Not replaced anything on it, and it gets HOT!
If the Genesis is a little out of your price range, I have the 3 burner Weber Spirit and my wife probably cooks on it as much as I do. We cook on it about once a week. 3 years old and it hasn't shown any sign of wear. Had venison Italian sausage tonight!
