High temp paint

I recently did the same on mine. I used the rustoleum high heat, but before I did, I applied ospho metal treatment on the pit. I use ospho on all my pits and most metal applications that will be outdoors (that matter) especially around the welds. Of course, unless you have an insulated firebox, not many high temp paints will take the heat if you build fires in the box. Good luck brother, requires plenty of cold beverages.

Ospho is the *****!! I use it on every metal project.
