The high temp engine spray can paint works really good and holds up great IF you bake the paint on. If you don’t bake it on it doesn’t last.

The high temp cerakote that people use on suppressors holds up
on those perfect. The glacier black color is supposed to withstand 2000 degrees

I recently did the same on mine. I used the rustoleum high heat, but before I did, I applied ospho metal treatment on the pit. I use ospho on all my pits and most metal applications that will be outdoors (that matter) especially around the welds. Of course, unless you have an insulated firebox, not many high temp paints will take the heat if you build fires in the box. Good luck brother, requires plenty of cold beverages.

I will look at see what I used on my pit when I get home. It has held up great but was expensive I think $90 a gallon. I had everything sandblasted before I painted it. On the paint I used it did require a high temp for a few hrs to cure the paint. Something like 4hrs at 350degrees.
