Be careful what you wish for. Try doubling your hunting and fishing expenses. Guns,Bows, blinds, stands, ATV's. Double that Colorado trip, mexico lease. Who's gonna keep the kids. i used to have to stay with our girls when they were in High School while my wife went hunting. Think about that

My wife has a hard enough time with my friends coming over for a party. Just the idea of spending a few days out in the woods with them makes her very ill.

My wife loves to hunt and fish, I love having her there with me. She also knows that there needs to be "guy's only" hunting time so we can sit around and lie about how good looking we are, how thin we are, how many hot chics want us and how we run our house...

I think the best way is to find some other gals that have an interest in hunting as well and get them together. Swallow your pride and buy a hat with some pink camo on it... if you are going to buy her some camo, spend the extra dollars to get the womens. Yea, it's hunting but the girls still want to look good in whatever they are wearing.

Get her hooked on it and you wont have to put up with as much crap when you want to get some new gadgets.

Lastly, have ZERO expectations. Mine will go to the lease with me and talk a good story about getting up, dressed and going out... and then sometimes she opts to bail out on me at 0500. I have to end up changing my plan a little, but I never let her know it irritates me a little. I let her sleep and generally have a nice hot breakfast when I get back from the morning hunt.

Heck, my wife came to me, I guess so we could spend more time together

Now, hunting is a family affair, though she doesn't go as much as she would like.

I'm thinking that if I just go ahead and buy that nice new 27' camper with double....no make that triple slide outs and a full bathroom complete with giant makeup mirror, then maybe she would go once or twice.

Bingo. I found that a civilized house with heat and A/C plus a nice flush toilet made a big difference.

My wife is usually a good sport about it. She actually sat in a blind with my son for a few hunts. She was not brought up with any hunting family memembers so my addicition was somehting she could not understand. After 21 years of marriage she is slowly comming around.

I'd suggest you make it fun and enjoyable and eat very well with lots of wine and if possible do a double date. Women love to share their misery with others.

When we were still dating, I took my wife to the lease, she shot her first deer that weekend. Now she goes every time I go if she isn't working (RN). Sometimes she will go to the blind, other times she'll just stay at camp. She's not a fanatic like I am but she enjoys it. Our 6yo boy is really getting charged up about it. He went with me the last four days of the regular season this year and just loved getting dressed up in his camo and looking for deer through his binoculars. I'm a lucky guy.
