That would be cool!! Catching a Goliath grouper would be like reeling in a bus!!

No plans this year outside maybe fishing Grenada for slabs in March and hitting Truman for the national championship in Sept! Maybe an exotic trip somewhere.

Guide says they only fight hard for the first 10 minuets. But, it's a rough 10 minuets!!!

I fly out the 17th and will be in the boat the 18th.

2018 should be another good one!

          Feb—Casa Viejo sailfish/Guatemala

          June—SPI/family trip and fly fishing

          Sept—Roosevelt elk in Cali

Oct—Whitetails at the lease in mason

Nov—took the week of my birthday off to hunt. Have Star S booked again.

Feb 2019–have to add it in because I can’t contain myself thinking about it!!!!!

I am going Mule deer hunting in Alberta September 1st. Going with some guys I met on a caribou hunt, it should be fun. Supposed to be some really good mulies, my friend has killed some slobs, has hunted there several times.

Still have to finish deer season here though, one more try next weekend! I am also going to try to do some more hunting at the lease for hogs and Turkey with my son.

Man, I’d love to invite people to join us but my brother & I are long overdue for some bonding time. Plus we don’t have any hard dates on departure & return since I’ll be off work (teacher here) and he’s on disability. May take a week and a half or two and a half. Not to mention a little time built in for visiting family.

New Zealand - red stag and thar. If I have time chamois

Idaho elk (hopefully I can draw New Mexico as well)

Spain - beceite ibex, could add a different one as well. All depends on time.

                France - mouflon sheep

Going to try and find a Midwest whitetail hunt as well.

                  Where are you headed?

I found in FL that the length of the fight with jewfish depends on water depth, tackle being used and size of the fish.

The first few minutes are critical especially around wrecks, they love to run you in. They are fun to catch, good luck.

So far, just some duck hunting in AR in January.

May go to FL in March for some Osceola turkey hunting.

Key west on the bay side in shallow water. Then the Atlantic side for sail fish.

That is a good area for them, Gulf side is mostly wrecks and rock piles less than 70' unless you make a long run. You will want some wind for the sails and not so much for the grouper.

Who are you fishing with, know several of the guides down there.

The wife and I are headed to Argentina in late March for big game and dove. Four of us are headed to Australia in August for water buffalo. Should be a fun year.

I'm going to make sure this is my year for archery red stags. In 2017 I shot and lost two stags and missed three. Frustrating when I'm shooting hares in the vitals from 40m and clean missing deer from 30m!

You’ll have a blast and they should be roaring good during that time. We went this past year and love every minute of it.
