My Mr. Buddy heater won't run on the cheap WalMart (Ozark Trail) propane... Once I got another bottle of the name brand propane, it worked like a charm...

Sounds like your striker is bad if there is no spark. If it won't stay lit, your thermocouple is going bad. I have pulled apart 6 of these things all the way down to the core. Most of the time it is from folks using the big tanks without filters or spiders getting down the orifice. I have replaced two thermocouples and one valve assembly and one ceramic burner element that got completely clogged with the oil that leeches from the hoses from the big tank uses. Most repairs have been draining oil from the lines and getting spiders out of the pilot light hole that have fallen down the orifice.

Mr heater question
Clogged pilot orfice or bad thermocouple.
Don’t think these have an O2 sensor.Last edited by super_dave; 12-28-2017, 12:26 PM.

This is the reason i run filters on all of mine, even with the 1lb bottles, the filters may not stop all of it but it keeps them from having oil residue build up.

LOL yup!. My clickers all work and I have never used them in my bow stand because they are so **** loud. Those stick lighters are $1/piece in Walmart lawn and garden area in the BBQ section and they work so much better. Plus if you do have a fickle thermocouple, you can heat it up with the stick lighter where it will work.

Everybody that has had them worked on by me now uses filters plus leech oil free hoses as well. It's cheap insurance .........
