    Mr heater question

So I've been sitting here this am. Heater was working fine for about 45 min then it had a hiccu. Pilot light shut off killing the whole thing. Now it is still reluctant to light for more than ten seconds unless it's on full blast. Any ideas?

If it's really cold out then I'd keep it on full blast then. Air blow the orifices when you get home.

It may be sensing oxygen level is low. How ventilated is your blind?

Try a new bottle, just may be low.

You did not say which Mr. Heater, but if it’s a buddy like mine, pilot orififice is probably stopped up. Remove grill. Remove a little of the cotton from a q tip and dip in in rubbing alcohol and slide down in orifice. Then blow it out with a can of compressed air. Good to go.

It is the Mr buddy. Wasn't aware they had the oxygen sensors which is probably what was happening. Had everything shut to keep some of the heat in.

I don't know about the Mr. Buddy, but I know the Mr. Heater has an oxygen or carbon monoxide sensor that will cause it to shut off so folks don't end up dead in their deer blinds. I would imagine the Mr. Buddy does too. You should always ventilate your blind when running a heater.

Usually do have a window open, but the only window in this blind opens directly into the wind.[emoji23] wasn't helping with the cold

I started bringing an army sleeping bag with me on those cold days. Easier to pack and keeps you warm in toasty. Sometimes to well and you want to take a nap.

I always take a nap in the stand anyway. Can't help it! I'm usually in the stand an hour or so before it even thinks about getting light, so I'm just catching up.

I have a mr buddy that quit working. Well it won’t ignite by pushing in the pilot button. It clicks but no spark. It will light w a lighter. Any help?

One of mine did that, I had to clean the pilot light orifice and bend the thermocoupler to stay in the pilot light flame.

Here is a manual for you.

This for sure. Leave at least one window open. I always battle staying awake early while I'm waiting for it to get light. Being chilly is better than dead!
