I bought my Savage Axis 270 at Gander when they were going out if business. Paid $200 out the door. It has the accutrigger and will out shoot me. It’s my go to and favorite gun I own.

I'm think I'm about to go get the 6.5.

A gun won't make or break a hunter...more like the ammo choice and what kind of ammo the gun likes.

Buy it!!! it won't shoot any different for the most part then a $800 gun

I looked at the TC Compass too. I liked it but they didn't have a 22-250. Plus add in a $45 cheaper difference and Savages accuracy, I went with the Savage.

I have the exact same gun. Purchased at the exact same place. It was dead on out of the box. Now I have a vx3i 4-12 50mm I will be using this year on it.

Looks like I’ll be making a trip to the local one later today. Hope they have some in stock here for $175

They had them in the back yesterday. Not a single one in the display. I asked the sales associate who was very nice, to take pics of all the models they had back there and she did. She said her manager did not want them all on display or something like that.

So you may have to ask them.

All they had at the local store were the Axis SS barrel models for $300. And only 1 of those were on display, with multiple in the back. 30-06, .308, and 6.5 CM if anyone in the Brenham area has any interest
