Bought new feeder with the timer
Figure $70 for the timer
Bought 12 sacks of corn @$6 each for a total $72

Set up and filled feeder. Two days later the feeder is empty with remnants of corn scattered around.

Total loss $142.

Bought Texas Hunter timer for $30

No more problems

It sucked to lose 3,000 pounds of corn but then I thought "at least my coffee machine didn't burn down my house" and then my spirits picked back up.

Yes you did.......$142 or ($360 in his case) compared to losing a $150-250K house is a great comparison.

Did they compensate you for the corn? Otherwise it’s poor customer service. I had one do that to me. I’m not giving them a second chance.

I guess you like wild game innovations products as well if you think Texas Hunter is a top quality product.

Neither are a top quality product. The timer was at one time but ranks right with the others now. Why pay twice as much for poor quality. At least the others haven't dumped my feeder and trashed the battery. My old the timers are still ticking. Let's hope they get back to what they used to be.

New round is. Have 4 new ones with no issues. Sounds like a couple production runs had issues.

Then you should only ask for compensation on what was wasted and not eaten

So I called West Texas feeder. I guess I'll be paying shipping back to them and write a note what's going wrong. If it's warranty they will replace if not I may get a discount depending

I was just in there last weekend and watched a guy exchange a unit that was gaining time from the bad batch years. The guy there looked at the numbers on the back and exchanged it with no questions asked....just handed him a new unit and sent him on his way.

I can understand your annoyance... I was merely suggesting that you shouldn't have any problems exchanging it if its in the time period and warranty period. I'm glad to have bought mine 10 plus years ago and not had to deal with any problems..

Would be nice if there was an actual PRE-emptive "recall" or some info to identify which Timers are in affected date range, rather than an after-the-fact "sorry you blew a ton of corn or ruined your hunt, here's a new one"....

i found out most of our problems were with the wire harness, order 3 so i have spares. Does anyone know how to date the year it was made?

We have three of them that are doing the same. Not an easy trip to make when it’s 12 hour round trip. I’ll get them in the spring and return them (again). Maybe third time will be the charm...
