We fed horn corn for 4 years, we would add more roasted beans to the mix for antler growing, the deer about ate us broke. The only big change we seen was the body size of our deer, the largest one weighed in at 258 lbs. and over 200 was common. We now feed antlermax because the beans do not have calcium or phosphorus, ( atleast I think that is correct ). We are starting our 4th year on antlermax, some improvement but not near as much as expected.

Tony, I have used it at my lease in louisiana. Corn was eaten and soybean was not. Never used it again.

I've had limited success with it a year or two ago.

What I have seen though is soybean fields that were extremely active. Anyone here that can tell us how planting soybeans as a forage crop would stack up?

I have fed it in Bosque, McLennan Counties and Kansas and have not ever had problems with it not being cleaned up. The price is what hurts me. When it was the same price as protein I fed it in my protein feeders, but when soy bean prices went through the roof I started using as an attractant, hand feed during my hunt time, and not through my feeders.

If you come through Central Texas you can pick it up from Gary at Brazos Feed located on LaSalle Ave or Keiths Ace Hardware on Hewitt Drive. Both places will treat you right.

GamePro by Martindale feed out of Valley View Texas north of Denton is the manufac turer. They sell the roasted soybean and corn mix. If you buy the mixture from somewhere where the soybeans are not roasted the deer will not eat it. However, we use GamePro in Nocona and on the Brazos and the deer love it. The price last month was 9.50 a bag and it was dropping.

I use Stockton Magnum Deer Plus... The cost is about 8.00 per 50 pound bag. Bulk loads cost me around 7.50. I think it is the best deer feed ever made... I tried everything... the magnum deer feed is 20% protein and the deer gobble it up. It has alfalfa, cotton seed meal, corn, milo, trace minerals and cane molasses.

FYI, roasting the soybeans robs the beans of it's protein..l
