Everyone is different, be nice if you could find out what he drinks without just straight out asking him. If someone gave me a high dollar bottle of Tequilla it would just get mixed with rita's with the cheap stuff!

This. I've got buddies who just drink Jim Beam. A bottle of fancy liquor really wouldn't do anything for them. Then again i have some friends that drink some high end stuff. Depends on the person. Some folks would be happiest with a case of Natty Light.

As others have mentioned, while a high end tequila would be my first choice, some people retch at the thought of it.

I wouldn't get him crown though, unless that's explicitly all he drinks. That's not a very high end bottle.

Well he drinks both whiskey and tequila. Ive seen him drink makers mark. Not sure on tequila but he mixs tequila with grapefruit juice.

Just keep in mind what the place would cost you to hunt. Don't go cheap. High end bottle of anything will mean a lot to him since he's not charging you. And drink it with him .

Herradura is a decent tequila. About $50-75 depending on what you get.
