ASIC's are coming out for most cryptos at this point(even ETH). Once manufacturing of the ASIC's ramps up, the asians(China, Taiwan and Korea), and start doing their pump'n'dumps again.
Anyone here been doing mining instead of speculating?

What does this mean? I bought a few LTC about two weeks before it crashed. Does this mean it’s gonna go back up? I’m down roughly 60% as of now. Of course, the little I put in I completely anticipated losing.

I mine while I can. Now's a good time to buy gear if you're interested, video cards are magically available again. Still not worth the investment unless prices go back up considerably though.

I expect it to. Wasn't bit a couple months ago iirc your LTC touched $99.

I bought in at about $293 per coin. That was around November I think. For a while I looked at it multiple times a day. Now I go several days without checking it. Not sure how low it actually got.

Ouch yeah that's gonna take a while to get back there.

As long as you're viewing it as gambling, and you're ok with losing it, then you have the right frame of mind.
I do not think we're going to see a full rally, for quite a long time, and I personally expect several steep corrections before we see prices again, like months ago.
The only thing keeping prices where they are, are speculations and tightly controlled pump and dumps.
While there is no predictability to prices, there is something to be learned from the past rally/correction cycles. There's a stark correlation between crashes, and the peaks of profitability for GPU-based mining methods(using computer graphics cards for hashing), that goes in a cycle based on new, more power graphics cards being released. New GPUs make more hashes, gold rush happens, prices go up. At a certain point, market-manipulation sets in, and correction happens.
Major corrections like December, kick miners in the shorts.
This creates demand for hardware manufacturers to create dedicated ASIC mining machines, like what we're starting to see announced. These are purpose built for maximum hashing calculations based on the present methods. Think of it like a circuit board that only does that one program, but does it faster than something that's designed to handle a wide variety of programs. This will create some hype, but have a smaller effect on actual prices than the GPU rush.
HOWEVER.... this becomes a wild-west pump and dump, where they literally just dominate a market, drive up prices, then dump them to a crash when the ASICs are no longer profitable. The vast majority of the ASIC miners are bought up by companies overseas with free energy, and create massive farms.
North Korea and China are said to be the biggest holders, miners, and traders of coin currencies, based on purchase IP geolocation data that's been pilfered from the ridiculously insecure exchanges.
This is a very long way of saying, unless you're into mining with a solid ROI strategy, you're basically playing at a casino right now. A casino with no odds regulations, and where the billionaire fat cats control the cards on a whim. If you listen to hype-people, you're going to get played.
