2017 East Tx Rut Report Thread.

There are a lot of reports imbedded in numerous threads throughout that the East Tx rut switch has showed indications of being "on" at times this past few days. I thought I would take the liberty to start a dedicated thread for folks to post what they are seeing. Sounds like this could be a good weekend to be in a tree....

The time of year is close, but I think Monday would be the better day.

Of course Monday is going to be the better day that's a work day. I guess I'm going to Brave weather and try it out

That’s pretty well be the story of the season thus far. If we could get a cool front slip in on a Friday i believe there’d be a whole lot of LDP’s come Monday morning.

Next weekend is looking promising! I'll be in the stand this Sunday as the winds shift and the front pushes through I've had luck like that.

I'm seeing lots of scrapes, but no chasing yet. However, I haven't seen many deer, so that doesn't mean much. All of my mature buck pictures were at night last week. I did notice 4 different fawns that were by themselves. Momma was no where around. We haven't shot any doe on our lease yet, so that leads me to believe that momma was locked down with a buck somewhere

Last week the scrapes I found were being worked regular on the usual scrape lines. This week the pine straw and leaves remain in the half dozen or so I have been checking on as of yesterday.

On in Liberty County. Bucks locked down with does.

I saw bucks chasing last weekend in Angelina county.
I will be hunting from today until Wed next week. That should give me time to see if the rut is truly kicking in.

Rut will kick in the first couple weeks in November. I hunt in Northeast Texas.

Yeah “east” TX is a big area. At our place in Anderson County it’s at least 2 - 3 weeks from prime time. At our lease in Trinity it’s happening now.

Monday should be a real kick off for the rut

Where does the data to plot these graphs come from? It would be interesting to know that. Can you share?
