here is the current record for a bob cat. 52lbs. This cat would kill that dog in less than a minute, then eat him, then find his family and kill and eat them too.

Can you define properly bred?

I was under the assumption that a properly bred pit was very docile and not violent at all.

In a cage- dog, out in the open the cat would get the better of the dog.

The cat would win. I had a friend who happened upon one in a tree. He shot it with a .22 It came out of the tree and whipped the crap out of his catch dog. It did finally die but it raised hell until it did.

For the closest comparison, there was a video on youtube of a mountain lion killing a wolf. I'd have to go with the cat.

An old cornered Tom or a mama with kittens would have that pit running for its life . I’ve seen tame house cats whip dogs.

I get what you’re saying. I’ve seen harmless pits, and if you put one of them in the cage it won’t have a chance. But I can see the flip side too. A bred fighter would probably kill the cat.
