There are definitely timbers in Montague.

GOLDEN, Colo. (KKTV) - A Colorado man died Saturday after he was bitten by a rattlesnake during a hike in the Denver metro.

Daniel Hohs, 31, was hiking in Mount Galbraith Park, just 1 mile northwest of downtown Golden when he encountered the snake. He survived long enough to make it to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving.

Don't usually have a snake problem around the house, but this year both of my dogs have been popped by copperheads, they should have paid more attention at the snake avoidance class!! Think the floods moved a lot of critters around down here.

Interesting timing. I ran over 2 copper heads last night. Usually get one every now and then but they were out last night.

I wonder how long it took him to get to the hospital or if maybe he had health problems? It's uncommon to hear of a Prairie Rattlesnake killing someone. Especially a healthy adult.

I know there are reports of that particular species killing people within two hours of being bitten but they're not known to cause a fatality.
