Feeder s been up 5 days

You probably put Deer corn in the feeder not knowing any better. Dump it on the ground and fill it up with Hog corn. Common mistake by tons of hunters.

I've been thinking on that and maybe adding some pea gravel as well :=)

This afternoon I turned her am feed off, changed pm feed from 5 till 7:45pm and the Dustin to 1 second.
While I was there checked the camera card. 1 pictures of a pig under it. I was like WHAT!
Than I looked at the settings.
Timer delay was set to 30 minutes. Changed it to 1 second.
Hoping to get more than 6 pictures from it in 3 days. 4 if those were off me

Just wanted to drop you note of thanks for starting this thread. It has been one of the more informative threads I remember on this topic, and I have learned a few tips that will correct mistakes I have been making with my feeders.

Sunday afternoon I went to Walmart to get stuff fir this coming weekend, headed to the lease. I wanted to get some Big Game butter to put out. But at $15 for a 5qt pail...... I decided to try the Primos Donkey Butter. It was $1.59 for a squeeze tube, me and my 12 yo hunting buddy, with parents permission, put a cinder block under the feeder and put some of it on there. I wanted to go last night and tonight to check cards. I haven't. That area is where I've seen the black boar the most. After our recent encounter I'm trying to wait to let him relax. I might go tomorrow night after Church and check cards....
We sat in amongst the bales Sunday evening from 6-745. Dad says he needs to be home before 830. Feeder spun at 744, it was programmed spin at 745. I'm going to change it to 7. We had to head to the truck at 745 so we didn't get much chance to hunt it... He was home at 818. I was shooting for 8:15.

We didn't see anything but did have a cool conversation about the benefits and uses of a blade of grass, not Mary Jane grass. And how it is one of Gods many wonders. We rambled off 10-15 uses without giving it much thought.
Food: animals eat it, we eat the animals
Fertilizer: animals eat it they digest it and their feces fertilizes the grass
Fire: grass fires nourish the soil. Settlers on wagons trains burned dried dung cause they had no wood
Shelter: animals, us, sod houses on the Plains, seetlers mixed it with mud and other things to seal the gaps between the logs of the homes.
Tools: Vaqueros braided their Magueys from Agave Fiber
Erosion Control: the roots keep it in place,

The theme was Gods wonderful creation. For all that to be an "accident" just doesn't make sense to me....
We also talked a little about why the animals are afraid of us. There's a Bible Verse(s) that cover that.

Anyways. I Love Jesus! I Love His children and I enjoy sharing what little info I have with my hunting buddy. Honestly he's an answer to prayer. I'm not worthy of his families friendship, Jesus not only makes me worthy He declares me worthy. When He called me He didn't say hey you. He said Kyle follow me. Just like Peter, even after Peter denied Him thrice.

I don’t believe that can be used as a blanket statement. I put out a green EWT Blindsider and neither deer nor pigs were bothered by it one bit. I’ve sat in my bow blind and watched deer and pigs walking around with the light switching on and off and they didn’t even flinch.

I do believe SOME animals are spooked by them, just not all.

I checked cards last night.
Nothing been at my feeder since in put it up.
I didn't hurt there for 9 days. Hoping to give it a break.
Still got lots of corn on the ground too.

Did see this guy about 915 last night making a scrape, in the next week pasture.
