I've ran lots of high end glass, both personally owned and borrowed from friends. Never have been a fan of Swaro scopes, but I'm sold on Swaro binos and spotters. I can't say that they're $2500 worth of great, but I'd have no qualms picking up a lightly used pair for $1500-1800. A buddy has scored 2 different sets of 10x42 ELs for $1200 each.

I have the 10X42 EL with rangefinder. I really do like them a lot but do find them to be a tad on the heavy side when carrying them all day. I am well satisfied and have had them for about 3 years now. But honestly, I sometimes wonder if they were actually worth it. In my opinion, I cannot see that they are that much superior to other premium optics that cost much less. I really like the rangefinder capability as it is one less piece of gear I need to carry. Just one guys opinion.

I went back and forth on the Swaro EL Range and the Leica Rangefinding Binos. Both had great glass. The Swaros wouldn't range under 30 yards so that was a little annoying. Ended up finding the Leica Rangefinding binos for $1500 on sale so that made the decision easy on the $3,300 Swaro El Ranges.

I recently took the Leicas on an elk hunt and they were great in low light.

to me there is none finer.

I have them and they are clear, bright and ergonomic. I carry the leica HDB's but they're much more bulky then the el's

What size EL's? I'm thinking of going with the 10x42's.

I've had Steiner, Zeiss and Swarovski. While the old zeiss classics hold their own, they are one tit on the milk sack behind the swaros.....

Agree they are worth the money. Especially in low light conditions.

IMO they are worth every penny. As someone stated above, "you get what you pay for with optics." I finally got a pair of 10x42 EL range binos about 3 yrs ago and they are by far the best hunting purchase I have ever made. I have a guy that has the best prices I have ever seen on Swaros.

What I've found in optics is that in any given price range, the glass is usually pretty comparable. Some companies choose to offer bells and whistles at a lower price point but the glass usually suffers because of it.

Perfect size for an all around bino. I'd go bigger objective if all I was gonna do is be in a deer blind though

The challenge is being able to afford glass to put on your gun that matches up in low light.
One of the best purchases I've made.
