Conroe academy..

Never been to that one but the last 5 times I've been to the Tomball academy, I've had to wait in line for 20 minutes because they only have one register open. So frustrating.

I was just telling my wife the same thing the last couple times I was there. You would think when 7 people are standing in only one line that the smart thing to do would be to call for backup

I call it Porter. Valley ranch is porter, but I guess since it's on the north side of 99 it's new Caney.

They run it like the walmart across the street. (which i NEVER go in, and have forbid my wife to shop at).
I'll go out of our way if I can and hit the woodlands Academy.

Conroe used to be a good one several years ago for selection of bass tackle, haven't been there in 2-3 years but it had went down hill then.

yep its terrible , never restocked, i went looking for some fishing line and they were sold out so i waited a week or so still none on the shelves (of particular one) so i ordered online, everytime i go there i check to see if they have restocked it ...took over a month...

I only go to my local Conroe store if I am being lazy. that store sucks! All my money goes to the one in the woodlands!

The one in Huntsville isn't bad. Its not a great big one like the new one in Bryan or the Woodlands, but its always stocked and several checkout lines open.

The one off Pinecroft in the Woodlands is by far the best Academy i have ever been to.

They redesigned the entire store. Fishing now has its own counter with new displays and the store is much larger than it was before. Plus i been finding nice discounts on hunting stuff. Got a HSS ultralite harness for $44.

This. I can't believe how nice that store it.

I'm looking forward to them opening the one on Kuykendahl at 99 next Friday. That's 5 minutes from my house.

They recently remodeled the RR Academy, looks really nice. Still don't have what I need most of the time. That old saying you can't put lipstick on a pig you still have a pig.

Yep, save yourself the drive and just go to the Montgomery Walmart. I went to Academy last week because I needed some screw in climbing sticks, a screw in bow holder and some good tent stakes which I like to use for my pop ups. They had none of it. I went to Walmart in Montgomery and they had everything I needed and then some! Kind of crazy a Walmart's outdoor section has way more than my local Academy, and better prices also. Oh, I also needed a fold up saw and they had that in the outdoor section of Walmart as well.

I was thinking the same thing. It's a shame that BPS, Gander, Academy, etc. are all on highways and that none of them provide enough security. I would never stop there on the way to the lease with guns and such in the truck. You are asking to be hit.

It went to crap a few years ago when Academy was bought out or merged or whatever they did. Wasn't the best before that but now it just sucks.
