Consider a 10,000 ac ranch. That'd be killing 40 bucks. Hunting in Oldham, you know how conservative of buck harvest is required to maintain top quality. As you know, deer quality tends to influence price.

I suggest $1500. And, no, I'm not interested.
I was on a mule deer lease in the Panhandle a couple years ago. It was 10,000 acres. We had 7 hunters. We killed 2 or 3 mature bucks per year between us. We were going to cut it back to 4 hunters on the 10,000 acres, but the landowner found another group to lease it to (9 hunters paying twice what we had been paying). They killed 2 young bucks and 1 old cull.

Gotcha D-Dude. I mentioned Oldham as an example due to the low hunting pressure and resulting high quality, which can demand a higher price. Mulie populations in Cottle, Motley, Hall are definitely higher than in Oldham, but nowhere near supporting killing 1 buck/250 ac annually, which means low quality and lower price.

He'd be doing really good to get $1500 ($6/ac), for low quality, no overnight, on 250 ac, for 16 days not during rut. My 2 cents. Well, ok, 10 cents for being long winded.

This is the only mulie killed off the place in years unless there were poachers that they didn't know about.

                                Lease Pricing Question

What are you trying to accomplish bumping this thread? Your buddy is nuts for wanting to lease 250 acres in a crappy area for mule deer and to top it off is wanting 3 hunters? Hell I will lease you 800 acres in ward county see deer on it once a year so there is a chance... got some ocean front property out there to...
