I do exactly this and right when you get out pour rubbing alcohol all over it. I have done this and it sounds bad but its worth it. It stopped all the itch for most of the day.

Sounds like you're using too much lubricant in the shower. Just saying...

I am allergic to poison oak and seem to get if frequently. If it is a mild case Tecnu has worked the best for me hands down. It is a little spendy, but worth every cent. In severe cases nothing beats prednisone from the doc.

Shot from the doc and prednisone. Knocks it out in a few hours. I've tried everything the past 15 years and this is by far the best. As soon as it starts get to the doc quick.

Sorry man, it gets me too.

The dawn dish soap is absolutely the way to go for PREVENTATIVE measures, and you should wash quickly after contact with COLD water so your pores won't open and help the oil absorb into your skin. Also wash clothes and anything else you had contact with or else you may see new blisters appear days after first outbreak.

Once your skin reacts to the PI oil, all you can do is treat symptoms. If you've washed the oil off, then hot shower is just a non-contact form of scratching.

When i would get it Mom would always wash it good with soap and hot water and apply a paste of lemon juice and baking soda to help dry it out.
