My kids and nieces were playing round my cabin in the mud when I noticed a niece had placed poison ivy in the center of her mud island. I made her wash for about 5 minutes with dawn. She never broke out.

Had a buddy fall down in a PI patch. He was holding back a limb I was cutting. Had him wash with Dawn, never broke out.

Yeah, poison ivy sucks.... I get it quite easily. Probably 3-4 times a year and I try to avoid it.

Tecnu is some pretty good stuff. It gets rid of the oils. One of the better off the shelf things I've found. I'm bad about getting it to. I always say if I just look at it the wrong way I'm gonna get it

I use bleach sometimes . It burns! Most of the time though I have to get a shot and then take predisole(spelling). Most things do very little to help me. I get it and it spreads fast. The Tecnu stuff is good if you know you got into it and you can get in the shower right after you know you have been in it. The soap does work. When I use it I shower and scrub down two or three times. Had really good luck this year!

If you figure something out that actually works, let me know please. Ive had poison ivy or chiggers just about every week the last 2 months. Everytime I work at our place I walk away with one or both. Tired of itching!

But all I do is give it 5 or so days until that last run of really itchinh as it dries up and then I seek my revenge and scratch the ever living poo out of it until it bleeds. It will burn for a few minutes, but it wont itch anymore. Makes me feel better to do this! Lol

It's a prescription topical steroid that will knock it down quick and stops itching. Not what it's prescribed for but works better than anything I have found and I have tried it all. Been battling poison ivy my whole life.
THIS ^^^^ I KEEP A TUBE OF IT AROUND. Pretty sure it's by prescription though.

Go get a steroid shot and some meds from the dr. That's the fastest way.
