How to stop cows from tearing down your feeder pen?

We keep fixing our hog panel pens and the darn cows just tear it down. Any ideas how to stop this?

I might be building one here in the near future.

My thought would be to put one stand it barbed wireire on the top?

X 2. Need to build better fence. Now that they have gotten through what you got, you are really gonna have to beef it up to keep them out.

Is that hog panels or wire? If hog panels, you need more t posts. If it's wire, you might try a strand of barb wire at the top. But you might catch a deer doing that. And all they have to do is lean on a t post and your barb wire won't be tight anymore

              Also, heavier gauge tie wire.

Like stated before more T-post and panels. have a T-post every 3-4 feet and just double lap your panels.

Looks like they are enjoying that cotton seed. You might try getting rid of it.That and IMO your fence is too low.

Once cattle learn to go over a fence, you've got a problem. Good luck with it all.

                    Better fence.

                    Rat shot.
Buy the ring leader and bbq it.
Give up and find a new lease.

                      Make it twice as big.

Wait wait...I was told on TBH many times that folks never have problems with cattle getting over hog panels..

Get rid of those 36"hog panels and use the taller cattle panels.

Cut one or two down a level to 42/44" from 48"/50" for the deer to cross easier in strategic places in the pen. Problem solved

That looks like wire not hog panels. If wire, you need to upgrade to panels. They look like jumpers so the shorter hog panel may not keep them out unless you place them off the ground a bit. If you have a hog problem, leave the wire and add the panels a bit elevated making the fence about 42 or so inches tall. Or buy panels that are taller.

If they continue to jump and they can if they really want it, you will need to build a proper 4 strand square fence with good solid T post that can be stretched tight.

                          Good luck.

A large circular pen with 10% more posts than you think you need, topped with one strand of very tight barbed wire.

And move the cotton seed further away from the fence. If they can get close to it leaning on the fence, they will eventually push it enough to get into the pen.

crap....looked like hog panels on my phone..

Need taller and tighter wire. Maybe add a strand of barb wire at the top for deterrent and rigidity. Need good anchors to pull it tighter too.

We have no problems with cattle trying to get over the tighter taller stuff on our few goatwire pens.
