I personally would go with black. I have seen very few chocolate labs that I would want to own. That's just my own personal observation.

      The lines are what matters.

If that was the case everyone with black hair would be professional athlete.
And all redheads would be Country singers.

Coat color has 0 affect on train ability, temperament etc etcetera.

        It's all about genes.

Color is not a determining factor, just as mentioned by other posters on this thread....it's all about pedigree. I've had/have yellow, black & chocolate labs, all had pedigrees and were awesome hunting/retrieving dogs.

Good chocolates are hard to come by because a lot of people breed them for their looks, instead of their bloodlines.

I have a black, and have owned a yellow, but I went to look at a litter both times and picked one that felt right. Well my Black was the last one available, but the whole litter was still there when I went to look and he walked right up to me and I knew he was my next dog

                      Black- two positive genes
                      Yellow-one positive, one recessive
                      Chocolate-two recessive genes

born defective, they can't help it.

Here they are, both great dogs but the yellow was my brothers first and was the sweetest dog, just a wanderer. Led her right into the highway where she died. The black is all mine and is the most loyal dog I've ever seen

One will generally be darker than the other.

Great pic! Your girl could be mines twin sister. I'm not smart enough to know the difference. Mine is chocolate and is as smart as I am. That's not saying much but we get along fine.
