Joking aside - don't shoot an animal on public land that you do not intend to take with you. It is called waste of resources and the game warden will give you a ticket.

The worm thing in rabbits is more of a myth. If you see worms in the meat while you are processing it, then don't eat it.

Does this apply to non-game animals?

to be honest they go out in my trash during deer season.....I use a saw and cut down the long bones and away they go
