Didn't save them. Had I known it was as rare as Bigfoot I would have saved them. I just took down the hog panels and put up cattle panels. Problem solved.

Now I just need to figure out how to keep the black panthers from jumping in the pen.

        This.

I've always wanted to see a hog jump in a feeder pen.
Black panthers are afraid of slinky's.

The feeder is set up about 100 yards out from the blind. The blind is raised, but not enough to allow a downward shot (being 100 yards away doesn't make for much of an angle).

So what does the Green Screen do?
Do you shoot through the hog panels?
Do you cut the hog panels down shorter on the side that faces the blind?
When my family first started using the hospital panels, we cut them in half, height wise and did two streams of Barb wire above it. This stopped the hogs and stock well enough, but still provided a clean shot at vitals. The last three people rebuilds we're done by my cousin and his group of buddies, and they didn't bother with the cutting. I made the mistake of shooting thru the panel once. Saw sparks fly and the bullet spined the deer just forward of the hams. Was able to get the second round thru to the vitals, but not until there was far too much thrashing and kicking for my taste. Call me a bleeding heart, but I have a hard time watching them suffer when I make a bad shot.

I think he will be OK, the arc of the arrow will carry it over the fence. OP, just set up a 3D target and take some shots.

HAHA, I would love to bow hunt at 100yds, but I struggle at 25 yards. (still new to bows).
I'll have a popup blind set up just outside of the pen for bow season, and then move back to my box blind during general.

I think I've decided to use hog panels, but cut them down to 28 inches. That should be low enough to shoot over, but HOPEFULLY tall enough to keep most of the pigs out.

Also, I'll keep the corn feeder up close to the front of the pen, so that it will toss some corn outside. That will hopefully drive the deer around to the front between me and the pen.

I'm just hoping that it's not too late to get it all done. It will likely be a couple of weeks before I can get out there and put it all up.

Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone, and if you have more, keep them coming!

Something else you can do is put throw corn outside the pen when you hunt.

You should have no problem shooting over 28" panels for sure. Good luck

I use the Tractor Supply 34" hog panels and never have any problems of hogs getting in my pens.
We have no cattle on our lease.

We have panels around all of our feeders. With a rifle, I shoot through the panels. Haven't had a problem. At 100 yards the trajectory is flat and you just make sure your cross hairs are not on a joint. Obviously, if the deer is towards the left or right edge, you don't have a shot because of the pen, but hunting is a patience game anyways... always waiting for them to be in the ideal position. The pen has never prevented me from killing a deer that I wanted to kill.

Bow of course is a different story. I don't shoot through a pen... anymore. I tried once and totally forgot about trajectory and my arrow hit the cross bar on a panel. The pen was at 20 yards, and the deer was at 26... After all the clanging, dust kicking, and confused looks from the deer, I drew again and put my 25 yard pin in the middle of the opening... and my 20 yard pin was... you guessed it... right on the cross section. Lesson learned.

One other thing, hog panel has tighter openings on the bottom... make sure that goes on the bottom

Just put hog panel around one of my feeders this weekend; as others have mentioned I cut mine in half. Seems to do just fine in keeping the larger hogs out of the corn at our place and does not mess up our bow/rifle shots.

Good for you. Most folks cut it out during season so that the deer don't eat free choice at night and come around to corn during the day for shot opportunities. And they pick the protein right back up in January... the deer "strive" to get right back on it.

We are focused more on year-round supplemental nutrition vs. just baiting. Never had any of our target bucks go 100% nocturnal because of protein vs. corn..... Maybe happens different ways at different places. I would think human pressure would play a much larger factor on this vs whether there is protein, corn, or a mix of the 2 in the feeder...
