    Feeder Pen Question

I'm thinking of putting up a feeder pen around my protein to keep the pigs out. However, my concern is that it will cause a problem with my shot on a deer.
The feeder is set up about 100 yards out from the blind. The blind is raised, but not enough to allow a downward shot (being 100 yards away doesn't make for much of an angle).

So what does the Green Screen do?
Do you shoot through the hog panels?
Do you cut the hog panels down shorter on the side that faces the blind?

Check the diy section. Someone had a pen w a gate that folded down when he was hunting. Pretty neat.

I have the same deal, but always shoot on the way to and from the pen... never while they are inside. Not saying that I wouldn't, but definitely wouldn't attempt to shoot thru the panel.

We lower are pens where we will be shooting by cutting off some sections of the cattle panel, I have had to shoot through the panels before and that is no fun but can be done

I road feed and/or hand corn outside the feed pen and the roads at that blind. It spreads the deer around and I kill the majority of the bucks on the road or area outside the pens.

My feeder pens are only 24"(48" panel cut in two) so a deer is taller than that at 100yrds plus you only have to purchase have the number of panels.

If you want a full 48" panel pen then cut a shooting hole mentioned above with some corn tossed on the outside.

Just cut a section shorter where you will be shooting. Like said above, make a section that folds down when you're hunting. That will work too. 100 yards away is a bit far for bow hunting. You've got skills!

24" panels wouldn't even slow down the hogs at my lease. I have seen them climb 34" hog panels to get to the corn.

We strive to get bucks addicted to protein all year long. Beginning in September we mix in corn to the protein but never take away what they've come to love to eat daily.

My rifle blind is 90 yards away from my feeder pen and I always shoot through the panel. Never had a problem so far (knock on wood)

May be have a corn feeder sling corn 5yards outside the pen or handcorn outside.

Got any video of that? I'll trade ya a Bigfoot sighting video.

I have shot a ton of deer with a rifle shooting through a feeder panel with no issues. If you were bow hunting, that would be a different answer.

No but I had trail cam pics of big hogs climbing over it. I don't need another Bigfoot video thanks though
