Well the interview went well y'all but, after the follow up, it appears that I do not have the appropriate amount of experience for the position.. so back to the drawing board..

Will be checking out a few of the mud logging/field geo gigs more in depth now..

Saw a post on facebook that fema is hiring inspectors. Starting pay is $35 per hour and they are guaranteeing 70 hours per week. If you are needing a job you should look into that for a holdover.
