The one animal that can and will do more damage to a house than a troop of monkeys. What the don't tear up or eat they will crap on. Males are especially bad. A baby male will lay on it's back or curl up and suck it's own bone like a pacifier. Best thing to do with a baby coon is what you would do with a cockroach.

Um....bad idea. There is a difference between what our hearts feel and what our brains should be saying. Discretely, eliminate the baby coon and tell her it died, which will not be a lie. Death is a part of nature, one kids must understand as well. Take this time to save yourself from disaster. Just my opinion, plus I believe you are not supposed to keep wildlife as pets, legally.

As a kid in PA our neighbors had 2. The mother was hit on the road, the little ones were found in the yard. I am pretty sure it was illegal but they were pretty tame and would let themselves be held, petted, etc. I never trusted them though. One night after about a year someone let them out of the pen they had built in their backyard. They would come back a couple of times a week to "visit" but would never let themselves be touched after getting out. They would just come and beg for food then leave.

Had one when I was a kid, a female. She was an awesome pet. If I ever catch another small one I'd try it again. Ours never got aggressive. As she got older, she would roam around more and more and stay gone longer. She didn't come home one day after about 3 years.
I'll agree with them getting into stuff, that joker could just about pick a Masterlock.

I picked one up off the streets once. He was young, but had already been dabbling in meth and prescription drugs. It was a long, tough road of withdrawals while trying to sober him up.
He had aggressive mood swings daily. Sometimes tearing up the whole house. Other days he'd just hang out in the bathroom washing his hands all day. Had to steal multiple bottles of small, hotel lotion to keep his poor hands moisturized do to the hard water at our house.
My goodness, don't leave your wallet out or any other valuables of that matter. I thought this little ***** hat had sobered up, but boy was I wrong... going out at night and not showing up back at the house at all hours of the night. Neighbors across the pasture have brought him home high on meth say he was digging through their trash.
I loved the little guy, and thought we had him under control. Then I realized he's a got **** raccoon. A drug dealing, drunk, good for nothing raccoon. I kicked him out of the house one cold night, January 28, 2015. Haven't seen or heard from him since, I wish the best for him, but glad he's out of my possession.
