I heard Mel Gibson had to leave some stuff out, because it would seem unrealistic and so far fetched, so maybe that's why.

My wife and I just started attending a new church about two months ago. The pastor does an annual series called "At The Movies." He used multiple clips from the movie this morning to portray how we as christians should live. We should always be praying for God to give us one more. It was pretty good. I'll see if I can find a link. I've never seen the movie, but after today, I'll be finding it.

Great movie!! I watched it 4 times this weekend, each time picking up little things I had missed. Gibson left some details out, especially about Doss's injuries, but I think he did a fantastic job with the movie...as he usually does.

It's hard to believe how heroic Desmond Doss was. So hard, 'Hacksaw Ridge' director Mel Gibson and producers left some of it out.

I know "just one more" gets all of the attention but the number of solders on both sides getting shot and bullets ripping thru bodies was just unreal. Those fighting scenes would make one think this is really what close combat war is actually like.

A couple weeks ago our pastor used this line in his sermon. My wife leaned over and asked me "wasn't that in a movie we watched". Sure enough, a few seconds later he played that clip from the movie.

If you saw it, you would understand. Trying to explain it without spoiling it for those who have not seen it is difficult.

There was an incident in his youth that involved a gun and he swore to never touch another one again. Its really a great movie especially since it was based on a true story.

It is an awesome movie for sure! it was super intense though. Could only imagine what that was like in real life for those guys.

Watch it and you will get it. Desmond Doss was brave because of the power within. He truly deserved the Metal of Honor.

What the movie did not deserve was losing the Academy Awards to a movie no one ever heard of about a young black homosexual living in intercity Atlanta. I only remembered the name so I could avoid it - Moonlight.
