    Grieving for my dog

I had to help my friend pass on yesterday. I came home at lunch and he was no where to be found. I looked throughout and found him laying up in some bushes panting heavily but would not respond to any of my calls or words. I knew it was terribly wrong. I brought him in the house and laid him down on a blanket under the AC and sat vigil there with my other dog for several hours. Once the vet could get us in I took him up there with my wife and assisted in his departure from this life and ours. Vet said he had a mass on his spleen that had ruptured and filled his abdomen this blood which was fatal. I had raised this dog since he was a puppy and he meant the world to me. We buried him on our ranch on a canyon overlook. I wouldn't think grieving for a dog would be this intense but it is. Anyway just wanted to share.

Really sorry about your dog. He looked like a really good one. I love blue healers. I know where you are coming from. It is tough to lose a dog that is a part of the family.

Very sorry to hear. They are a family member. And far better ones than most people.

Very sorry for your loss. I know the feeling.
Putting down the hound in my avatar even in her old age was awful.

Sorry for your loss. Worst part of owning dogs is they rarely outlive you. Been there many times, and will be again soon.

It does hurt to lose a dog that was dearly loved. I've been there. Take comfort in knowing you had a great dog.
