OUR Flag

I know that there has been a bunch of people burning, stomping and worse to our flag.
But what gets me is when a person displays the flag and they let it fly till its just tatters.
Am I the only one?

Your not the only one. I recently stopped at the Volunteer Fire Department in the town I grew up in and took it down. Called the one guy I knew was a member and told him. He was embarrassed and Thanked me. My question was "if your so embarrassed why let it get so bad, he said he never looked at it." REALY??? I look at every Flag I past. Usually belt out a very bad sounding version of the Star Spangled Banner every time also!

I've been called the flag nazi for all the calls, e-mails, visits folks get from me about their flags--whether tattered, unlit at night, used by RE companies for advertisement (flag at ever mailbox on the street that end up there at night, laying on the ground, etc). Home Depot is the worst offender in Seguin, by far.

So I guess you could say it bothers me a bit.

Funny this post should come up. I was driving to work yesterday morning and a guy was hauling butt down loop 410 in his big lifted Jeep with a large American flag flying from a hitch-mounted pole. The flag was soiled, shredded and generally in very poor condition. All I could do was shake my head and watch the irony drive by me.

Saw a red,white and green flag with stars and bars and an eagle with a snake in the middle of it the other day. A Mexico/American flag. Real classy.

There is a house I pass almost daily that has a flag with rainbow bars instead of red and white and it is all I can do to not stop and take it down. I'm sure that'd be considered a hate crime

On the 4th of July a group of morons in Georgetown were posing for pictures near our cookout area they were holding a large American flag and after every picture they would let the flag drag on the ground. After the the third time they let the flag hit the ground I walked over to them and told them to stop desecrating the flag , they got mouthy with me,three of the women weighed in around 300 pounds and I contemplated defensive tactical maneuvers...then my son walked up... they left..

It was individual weight of 300 on the hoof...the males with them were a non-combatants wearing bead bracelets and such...retreat was a viable option but I stood my ground then Mongo showed up

So you confronted three woman totaling 900 pounds collectively without immediate support from your son....even when retreat was a viable option? There is no telling what could of happened!

My 86 year ole dad did two wars and he has "no light and the flags over the years have been quite tattered." He flies his flag 365/24/7 unless a hurricane is headed toward NOLA.
They do the best they can but I would not put anybodys patriotism above his over such callous, life threatening, deplorable infractions!!![emoji631]
