The Omega 3's have been shown to help lower bad cholesterol, lower blood pressure, help with bone and joint health, and make you happy.
If you eat a lot of fish, especially oily wild caught fish, you don't need to supplement.

Most of the supplement/vitamins have no real proof behind the claims. Some can be harmful if taken in excess (like almost everything). Agree with other posts regarding high protein, low carb eating.has helped me immensely.

I take a multi that has just about everything in it (Puritan Farms I believe is the brand)
                BCAA's
Cellucors protien (Best protein for price and what you get out of it, low carbs, sugar, fat, and calories)

Yes it says take 6 pills 3 twice a day and drink a gallon of water. I usually take 3 or 4 pills at lunch instead of the 6 it calls for. I hate taking pills but it these really work. I quit taking them and my energy level/recovery took a hit. I can take four of these instead of a regular multi then gluco/chondrotin. Its one bottle which helps.

The data supporting the majority of the claims for vitamin supplements is not rigorous scientific data. If you have a vitamin deficiency then by all means it needs to be replenished but beyond that eating a healthy well balanced diet is all you need. I know this is a touchy subject but that is the way I interpret the evidence or lack thereof.

If youre trying to just be healthy then yeah you really dont need supplements but if youre actually training for something athletic or trying to gain muscle mass/strength. Youll need supplements.

Unless you (not "you" but anyone) work outside everyday you are probably D3 deficient or close to it.. 2000 iu or so is a good daily dose.

Unless you eat tons of fish then Omega 3's are a solid idea.

IMO, those are the only 2 "must takes". I think multi-vitamins are more of a bandaid to make up for a poor diet.. A B12 shot in the butt every now and then won't hurt anything though..

I don't really count protein powder as a supplement, just food. Makes it easier to hit your protein and calcium goals..

I use NOW, I also use their Whey Protein too since GNC stopped carrying Bodylogix. They have a grass fed isolate that is about as good as you can find.
