Listen to Bob. I have caught some good fish off of palmer. It was years ago though.

Went to Walter long (decker) lots of BIG bass schooling shad. I don't have a fish finder so I struggled. Didn't catch anything. Paddled all the way around the far side near the power plant discharge. LONG way in a kayak lol. Lots of folks out. Didn't see anyone catching anything.

I used to fish decker a lot. Their are some good fish their but the good bite was always early and the rest of day was hit or miss. Only exception to that was days it was overcast and was raining light rain only.

I live near the lake and have fished it since the late 80's. Best time to fish it is in late fall when largemouth and white bass are schooling on shad near the dam. Right now the fish are deep. Try carolina rigged french fries or creaturebaits on main lake points with deep structure. Topwater can be good early morning and late evening. My two favorites on that lake are Tiny Torpedo white with red head or bone colored chug bug. Since the slot limit was put in place, the bass fishing has really improved and there are some quality fish to be had.

I need to get a fish finder. Pretty hard to do much without it.

I was out there today and took a photo of the tree.... it is the one way up on the bank.

I did get a nice one out of the remaining brush.

I dont know much about the lake but tie on a carolina rig and drag it around with the senko on it. especially with no fish finder, use that as your fish/structure finder. you will get bit.
