I had a weedeater doing the same. It would idle, but when you give it throttle it would bog down and die. Can't remember the YouTube video, but you can adjust the high idle screw about a half turn. Worked for me. I'll try to find the link, but not sure I know how to post it.

      Good luck, John.

This and there is a better product I use that is blue. It's next to the Marvel's but a little
      More pricey

Most name brand (Husqavarna, Echo, Etc...) you need a special tool that they only sell to dealers. Hopefully his doesn't need one. Either way, its carb that need to be clean/replaced and the other stuff is a band aid.

If you don't have the splines tool, you can use a blue electrical butt connector on a screwdriver. That's what I had to use.

I've also used a bic pen. Then I got smart and quit working on them for people. Haha

Dremel with cutting disc. Cut slots in the adjustment screws then you can use a small screwdriver for adjusting.

                    Cause 4
                    Spark Arrestor
The spark arrestor is a small screen that prevents the engine from emitting sparks. Over time, the spark arrestor can become clogged with soot. If the spark arrestor is clogged, the engine may not start. To unclog the spark arrestor, remove it and clean it with a wire brush. You may also replace the spark arrestor.

Take off the arrestor, burn off the carbon and burnt oil with a torch.. clean with a wire brush and reinstall..
