I have been using this for the past two years on my custom 55Gal feeder and it has been a charm. it is an all in one operation also no cords for squirrels or coons to pull or chew up. I just wipe off the solar panel everytime I fill it up and it keeps working. also the 6V battery is still going strong after the two years. I attached the link to it on amazon, I think they are 10$ cheaper at academy though I can't rememeber.

Hands down -the timer and 12v. A 12v is louder when corn hits the legs on the feeder (cause it's stronger) and the noise carries further than with a 6v. Kinda like a louder dinner bell for the deer. I screw a small piece of sheet metal on the legs or the varmint cage to even enhance the loudness when corn hits it. Just my opinion.
