They had a Japanese Snow Monkey sanctuary for many years just outside of Dilley in Frio County. Lot of them escaped and ended up on ranches around that sanctuary. I was heading down 35 between Dilley and Cotulla one day and one had been hit by a vehicle on 35 on the north bound lane. A buddy of mine was the biologist/manager on a ranch that was off of highway 469 and had one show up on the roof of his house one day. I heard stories of them sleeping in deer blinds greeting hunters in the morning hours as they climb into the blind.Last edited by texashunter56; 05-09-2017, 05:12 PM.

The little store/gas station in Fowlerton on 97 used to have a picture posted on the wall of a bunch of them on the old rr trestle just southwest of town.
I hunted a ranch between Fowlerton and Los Angeles and one day when I pulled out on the highway headed towards Los Angeles, I saw a strange looking critter crossing the highway about 500-600 yds away. Wasn't a cat, wasn't a deer, wasn't a hog, wasn't anything I'd seen before.
