    gas powered post driver

Since I have a small amount of fencing to do, this caught my eye. Does anyone have any experience with this model or something similar? Or am I better off just continuing to use my front end loader bucket to push them in.

Not that particular brand, but if you have a lot of fencing to do, it is the greatest invention in the history of great inventions. Craftsman makes a good one.

SKIDRIl is the leading manufacturer of American-made, high quality, portable post drivers, offering hydraulic and gas powered post drivers.

ordering one of these. Little pricey but seems to be a good machine

This ^^^^^. I have one of the G20 two-cycle ones. I bought it last year in Feb. and used it to build about 2 miles of new cross fencing and rebuild 1/2 mile of old fence with new. They are heavy at around 38# with fuel but drive a T-post down 21" in about 9-12 seconds. I could drive 90 T-post in about 1.5 hours. I would drive 12-15 post then stop and go back to straighten each one with a level. Then move my Ranger up to where I had stopped and drive the next group of posts. I compared it to the Rohrer air driven one and decided on the gas operated. With the Rohrer I would have needed to take out my air compressor and the generatror or buy a gas compressor.

I'm going to give this home depot one a try for that price and free shipping. I've got lots of fence to build. Thanks for the heads up.

I learned quickly that they work better with a 6' t-post or shorter than 6.5' or taller post unless you use a short step ladder or have something to stand on(ATV, UTV or Pickup). I am 6'1" tall and it was a struggle to get a 38# t post driver on top 6' t post up in the air to start to drive the post. I learned to insert the post in the driver then stand both up. Then drive the post. With a 6.5' tall post I could barely reach the controls when the driver was on top of the post. It is not fun watching 38 lbs balanced awkwardly above your head that you do not have good control over.

Anything beats the crap out of the alternative. You ever miss with the old post driver? My brother was alone at our family place and knocked himself out for half a day. When he came back to consciousness it was dark.

Just ordered one. For $299 with free shipping, figured it's worth a try.
