It just made it through a House committee. It's not law yet if I understand right...

It's quite a way from being enacted into law. Once it's enacted, an effective date will be issued. On that date, it becomes law.

It still needs about 5 more stages to go before it would become law. IF that happens, then it goes into effect on Sept 1.

It is at least 4-8 years away from passage. It will not make it this year.

I'll be flamed for this but I'm against it. No way should every Joe Blow be carrying without proper schooling and training. Just because you can pass a BG check and buy a gun don't mean you are qualified to carry it on your person.

agreed! the most important part of carrying is knowing the law - what you can and can't do..

its a terrible bill. it makes people behind on child support and anyone with a minor criminal infraction ineligible.

thats a slippery slope to connect those things with the right to bear.

Just because you can pass a BG check and buy a gun don't mean you are qualified to carry it on your person.Then what are you supposed to do with it?Other states have Constitutional Carry with no issues.
