I sprayed the furniture and baseboards with Black flag flea spray from HD. Got to get the dogs under control too. Frontline finally wasn't working. Went to Trifexis for the dogs. Haven't had problems for a couple years.

Treat your dogs with anyone of the better brands of once a month flea pill. They will keep attaching to your dogs and eventually they will all die off.

Call a professional exterminator and do it right. It's really not terribly expensive and they have the magic juices that will knock them out for real. Of course he will have to come back and make a second application but it is the most effective way to get rid of the nasty little bastages.

And add Sevin dust or other pesticide into the bag. You want them to die when they are trapped in the vacuum.

At night, place a bowl of soapy water under a desk lamp on the floor. They will be attracted to the light and die in the soapy water.

As all above have said, vacuum, vet prescription flea product (Advantage multi, Comfortis, Brevecto (3 month treatment), Seresto collar (a collar that actually works), Simparica... Big thing, everyone has fleas, its just the environmental burden gets so over run is when you actually see fleas. over 90% of the flea population is in your carpet or lawn, only 5% are actual adult fleas that you see. Flea meds should be used year round in Texas. It usually takes months to get them back under control due to having to go through at least 2 cycles (each can last up to 200 days). There is no such thing as a resistant population of fleas, the meds just take time. Call an exterminator for yard and home.

Good luck. I work strictly in animal dermatology so if you have any questions about fleas just PM me.

Well did everyone get rid of their fleas? We have our yard sprayed twice a year and so far so good.
A neighbor a block over has been fighting them DIY for a month he is giving in and having his yard sprayed Monday.

I had a lady tell me several years ago that those big boxes of Tide washing powder gets them out of your yard. She put it in a fertilizer spreader...I never had a problem with fleas,so I can't say for sure.

Sprayed our yard twice, vacuumed and fogged he inside, and then gave the dogs Trifexis. Problems seem to be gone. Going to keep them on Trifexis to avoid having it flare back up

Pyrethrum sprayed over yard and dogs. Pyrethrum is safe for pets and people.
Kills about every kind of crawly or flying insect there is. It is also more expensive than permethrin which is a synthetic substitute. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrethrum This is what dairy barns use.

Yes, fleas infest on animals and from them they spread on plants and even in humans. Fleas can easily infest pets that go outdoors, but they can also enter pet free buildings. Since they can jump up about 7 inches and enter on people's shoes and clothes, they can enter any building. Fleas generally prefer cats, dogs, rabbits, or rats. You can go with natural ways first to remove them from your yard. There are sprays available that can help you remove them. If it does not work, you can ask professionals like CT Pest Exterminators for exterminating fleas. There are many exterminators available which you can find online. You can even search exterminators near by you and can choose which suits you best.

We use trifexis on our dogs.... I haven't seen a flea in months. And that's usually when we take them to someone else's place where there dog has fleas.
