Looks like a great feeder but For $1200 I think I'll just keep dumping it 50# at a time.

Anyone know where to find RB near McKinney other than Collin County Feed Store? Or somewhere north along 75 into OK. I hunt in Atoka and want to try some RB since my deer wont seem to touch the protein

              Guys who requested a PM.

              I just spoke with Bruce.

If we can get 20 people to commit (with deposit) he will sell them for $1000 a piece.

PM me if you want in.

I do not work with or for Bruce, all I know is that Rice Bran Works and I personally want to buy one of these feeders.

Sent, sounds like Ballgame is the guy to PM if you want in on the group buy.

Don't get me wrong I think it is a great concept and I def value the patterning aspect.

I just built three of these and have them at the feeders. Mixed rice bran with some corn. The small box on the side has mineral blocks in them now. I have not had anything eating from them yet but they have only been out for two weeks now. We are going to extend the tin on top on each side this weekend to help keep the rain out.

That is a nice build. I wouldn't worry too much about the rain if you are feeding rice bran. Deer will literally lick the dirt for days when you throw it on the ground. Even after rain. They don't seem to care.

I also tried a piece of 4"pvc with a 90 on the bottom that allows them to free feed. Tied to the tree just to the right of the trough feeder

I saw this and thought I may give it a try. I'm not sure how well the RB powder holds up once it gets wet, but this may be a cheap alternative

Here's another possibility. I have no idea as to the true size of this thing. I'd prefer an automatic feeder, but i can't find the ones Ragin' posted anywhere, and don't wanna spend $1,000 or more. I will settle for a free range one if I can keep the powder dry.

I looked at something like this but thought beings it moves that it may scare them away. As far as the water on the RB, to my experience it will build a hard pack on the top and stay powder under that. Once you break through its just like before.
