    That hurts.

I used Calcium Sulfite for my driveway and it gets hard like concrete. 300-340 per load.

A lot of these suggestions sound great for a flat road. But on a grade....maybe not so much. Guess it depends on how long of life you're expecting out of the material. I have a steep drive. We tried limestone first. #2 base, #411 crushed mix on top. Got hard as a rock, was great for a year or two. After that, washed out BAD with rains. After that, did hot mix asphalt. Great for several years, but even hot mix asphalt gets worn down by continued rain runoff on a grade over time. Been patching it hard for several years, trying to put off needing to put a new layer on top. About time for the new layer. On another area of the drive that was still a grade, but not quite as steep, we didn't do hot mix asphalt after the limestone washed away, we did recycled asphalt millings. I sprayed diesel on it to reactivate the oil a bit, then used a compactor on it hard for several hours. Again, it did great for a few years, but now it's washing bad, time for something new. Thinking of trying chip-n-seal. The township road in front of our house is CNS and seems to hold up pretty well.
