The LSBA held their banquet in Waco the same weekend that it all came to a head. We lost all our hotel rooms due to an emergency, reporters needed rooms. What a mess it was...

I moved to Texas in 1999, had never been here before then I lived in Alabama every day when I got home from work I and everyone I know was watching what was going on in Waco. Was watching the day it all came to an end. I have know idea about facts all I saw was what was on CNN but would love to know what really happened and why.

I was in high school and got the Channel 1,cbs and CNN version of everything. I am sure the people who were really affected by the events that took place would have a better perspective than a 16 year old HS kid.

Having spent 51 days out there during the stand-off, I would bet this mini-series is as jacked up as the media coverage and armchair quarterbacks were back in 1993. No, I'm not a surviving Davidian...I was on the outside, looking in...CONTOMS-DOD Certified Tactical Paramedic, was there for the initial raid and didn't leave but once between day one and the charred remains of the compound. I still carry the 91st Psalm that was hand written and given to me to put behind my chest plate on my vest the morning of the initial raid. I just wish a fraction of what was reported or surmised was the truth... but it was not. I won't waste my time watching this mini-series... I'm sure it will do nothing but **** me off.

Lots of innocent people got murdered on both sides. The bureaucrats who orchestrated the fiasco got promotions and raises. Same old song and dance.

There's a really good documentary on Jonestown. Lots of real footage. It is insane what all went down. Over 900 dead & a bunch of them were children. There's footage of all of it. Just awful.

I saw a fantasy island episode when I was a kid where it was supposed to be a cowboy in Waco.....and it looked a whole lot like Hawaii

When i was a kid i saw an episode of fantsy island where the fantasy was taking over lace in Waco Tx. Only problem is the scenery looked more like a small town surrounded by the Rockies. Be interesting how Waco looks in this series.
As for the series, i really hope it tells the real story of what happened

I remember mountains I guess they could have been rocky or covered in bright green vegitation...40 years has seemed to blur some of the details

I grew up in Waco and clearly remember all of the goings on. They day it burned up I saw all the smoke and wondered what was going on until I got word a few hours later as to what had happened. I was working at the Cottonwood Creek golf course at the time and could see it clearly in the distance. My girlfriend at the time and I went out there after a week or so to see it all and were able to walk all around in the burned areas. I would have thought that it would have all been fenced off but wasn't at the time. I picked up a few exploded bullet casings and a burnt piece of bible. I need to look when I get home to see if I have them still. The bible verse part you could read was crazy in that it talked about fire and flames....
